The 2013 Pesto Festo was the 6th Anniversary of this white tablecloth farm-to-table event hosted by Slow Food Tennessee Valley – and one of our most successful Pesto Festos yet! We would like to give a big shout out to Kathy Burke of Erin Meadows Herb Farm for hosting this year’s Pesto Festo and to Chef Ben Willis-Becker for crafting and presenting a fabulous menu.
This year the weather pleasantly mild and offered us quite a relief from last year’s brutal heat wave. We had live bluegrass music, kids activities, a pesto contest and pesto tasting and a farm tour before dinner. The menu featured Italian inspired cuisine with a decidedly Southern flair.
