Hear ye, hear ye!! Sound the trumpets and spread the word–Pesto Festo is back!
That’s right! Slow Food Tennessee Valley is very pleased to announce our eighth annual Pesto Festo, which will be held Saturday, August 29th from 5:30-9:00 pm at the Center for Urban Agriculture at Knoxville Botanical Gardens.
Pesto Festo celebrates local food, local flavors, and local talent. The highlight of the evening will be a 4-course, locally-sourced dinner, prepared by chefs Byron and Kiki Sambat of the Savory & Sweet food truck. Our pesto contest will also give the amateur cook a chance to shine.
And of course we haven’t forgotten the fun! Activities will include a farm tour highlighting the great work being done by the Center for Urban Agriculture, lawn games, and garden activities for kids. We will also hold a silent auction, with proceeds supporting the work of Slow Food Tennessee Valley.
While this is a BYOB event, Hexagon Brewing Co. will provide beer tastings; also, Cruze Farm will be serving ice cream and Old City Java will offer post-dinner coffee (more local talent!). As always, we strive for zero waste events, so please bring your own place setting(s).
Tickets are $50 for adults, $45 for Slow Food members, and $25 for kids ages 5-10. You can buy tickets online or at the New Harvest Farmers Market (Aug. 13) or Oak Ridge Farmers Market (Aug. 15). Members, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for the code to purchase discounted tickets.
We are very excited about this year’s Pesto Festo; we hope to see you there!
