Slow Food Tennessee Valley is excited to announce our third annual pie contest! The pie tasting and bakeoff takes place Sunday, November 10th from 5-7pm. This year’s event will be held at the Knoxville Botanical Garden located 5 minutes from downtown at 2743 Wimpole Avenue Knoxville, TN 37914.
All proceeds will benefit the Center for Urban Agriculture.
Entrance is a pie or $7 to eat pie.
To qualify for the contest, all pies MUST be homemade with at least one local ingredient.
Pies will be judged based on external characteristics (shape, surface), internal characteristics (texture, crust) and flavor.
Pie categories are best sweet, best savory and audience favorite. Winners will take home lovely prizes from our favorite local businesses. Judges are last year’s winners!
Remember: We strive for zero waste events. Please bring your own place setting (plate, utensils and drinking glass/mug).
