Online Pesto Festo tickets are sold out! We will have a VERY limited number of tickets available at the Market Square Farmers’ Market in Knoxville on Saturday. First come, first serve. Market opens at 9 a.m. Sorry, we can’t hold tickets for anyone. Look for the Slow Food booth.
Chef Ben Willis-Becker has announced our menu. First, we’ll have an array of pestos on the table using different kinds of basil from our host, Erin’s Meadow Herb Farm, and everyone’s local favorite, The Tomato Head. We’ll also have a homemade white bean and garlic spread. Rolls from VG’s bakery of course!
Next, a fun flair on an old classic- Panzanella caprese salad. I wonder how many different kinds of locally-grown tomatoes we can fit on one plate? Homemade foccacia bread anyone?
After that, we’ll be keeping with the Pesto Festo Italian theme by serving a helping of Ribollita- a Tuscan bean soup.
Followed by an eggplant, corn and tomato salad with creamy pesto polenta and braised pork. All three will be served separately so no worries if you’re a vegetarian or if you don’t like your food to touch (we understand).
And finally, if you saved some room for dessert, we’ll have basil panna cotta, peaches, and pecan brittle.
Don’t forget to pick up some Cruze Farm Ice Cream throughout the day (at Pesto Festo, you can have your ice cream before your dinner) and a cup of coffee from Old City Java for the drive home.
